2021 International Postgraduates Seminar

On  July 12-13, the 4th International Postgraduates Seminar was held in our  school. The seminar held in the form of online video meeting, Host by  Director of the International Cooperation Department of our school Xiao  Qiaoling. 31 colleges and universities from 10 countries including  Austria, Germany, Russia, France, India, Iran, Brazil, Poland, South  Korea participated in the conference, with more than 300  participants.This seminar was organized by our school, Leoben University  of Mining and Technology in Austria, and Freiberg University of  Technology in Germany. The  director of the seminar are Professor Li  Yawei, Professor Harald Harmuth, and Professor Christos G. Aneziris.

Lei  Fengyun, the Science and Technology Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in  Austria, Dong Keqin, a member of the Hubei Provincial Department of  Science and Technology, and Liu Jing, the vice president of our school,  delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the seminar.

Lei  Fengyun said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the  establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Austria. Hubei  Province’s science and technology departments, scientific research  institutes, especially Wuhan University of Science and Technology have  established friendly and cooperative relations with Austria over the  years, fully affirming our school’s efforts in promoting Sino-Austrian,  Sino-European, and Sino-foreign refractory, and he wish  China-Austria, China-Europe, and China-foreign friendly cooperation to  continue the past, and achieve stability and long-term progress.

Dong  Keqin introduced the development of science and technology innovation  in Hubei Province and the foundation of international science and  technology cooperation. He pointed out that Hubei Provincial Department  of Science and Technology supports and encourages colleges and  universities in the province to work with scientific research  institutions from other countries to create an open, fair, just, and  non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological  development, promote mutual benefit and sharing of cooperation results,  and use technological innovation as a means to promote technological  upgrading and industrial upgrading , To strengthen high-quality "Belt  and Road" cooperation and contribute to the building of a community with  a shared future for mankind.

Liu  Jing introduced the basic situation of our school to participating  experts and scholars, and welcomes domestic and foreign universities to  come to the school for exchanges, in-depth cooperation and common  development, and promote the global refractory materials from  manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing.

From  Leoben University of Mining and Technology in Austria, Freiberg  University of Technology in Germany, Federal University of San Carlos in  Brazil, Seoul National University in South Korea, Wuhan University of  Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing,  Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and Zhengzhou  University 25 postgraduates make report. The content involves secondary  resource utilization, material preparation, new methods and new methods  in the field of refractory materials, and reflects the current research  trends of refractory materials in universities in the above-mentioned  countries.

This  seminar has been held for four consecutive sessions and has become an  important link in postgraduate training and education among countries  and an important event for international academic exchanges in this  field. As an important part of talent training, the conference was  supported by the China Association for Science and Technology "One Belt  One Road" international science and technology organization platform  construction project and the Hubei Province Advanced Refractory Material  Innovation Base.
